I grew up in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago with my parents and two older brothers. One of the things my family enjoys doing together is traveling around the world to new destinations. One of our favorite places to go is St. John in the US Virgin Islands! I grew up playing sports and spent a lot of time outside, being active and exploring. I played basketball beginning in first grade and continued through college. I played for Saint Mary's College, which is an NCAA DIII all-women's college in South Bend, Indiana.
While at Saint Mary's, I studied Elementary Education and received a minor in English as a Second Language. I have always enjoyed serving others and giving back to those who may not have access to the same opportunities I have been fortunate to have. So, after graduating with my BA in Elementary Education, I joined Teach for America and was placed in Eastern North Carolina, where I spent the first two years of my teaching career. When the COVID pandemic began in 2020, I decided to move closer to family and friends and made my way back to the Chicago area. I have taught second grade in the Archdiocese of Chicago Schools for the past two years.
In addition to teaching, some of my favorite ways to spend free time are going for runs on the lakefront and riverwalk paths, watching the sunrise from my balcony with a fresh cup of coffee, and spending time with our family dog, Lucky!
